Visit the Bahariya oasis from Cairo.

Morning departure from your hotel in Cairo, heading for the Bahariya oasis about 340 km south-west of Cairo. Arrive late morning and check into your hotel.

Lunch and departure to discover the archaeological sites of the Bahariya Oasis:

Qaret El-Halwa, home to the oldest tomb in the Bahariya oasis, that of Amenhotep Hui, a native of the oasis and governor under the New Pharaonic Kingdom. The tomb is characterized by its beautiful, well-preserved paintings.

Qaret Qasr Selim, home to two tombs with surprisingly colorful frescoes, dating from the 7th century BC

The chapels of Ain El-Muftalah, chiselled out of the rock and then painted. They are dedicated to the fertility god Bès. They date from the 26th pharaonic dynasty

The Golden Mummies Museum contains some of the famous golden mummies discovered in 2004 in a spectacular necropolis in the oasis itself. These mummies are skilfully strung in bands. These golden mummies are decorated with beautiful stuccoed cardboard masks, typical of the Greco-Roman period.

Climb the oasis mountain, known as Black Mountain or English Mountain, to enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire oasis from its highest point, as well as a more than sublime sunset.

After breakfast at the hotel, departure for the White Desert (approx. 80 km), stopping en route to visit it:

Crystal Mountain, in the shape of an arch streaked with quartz veins and sparkling crystal walls. One of the most beautiful attractions in the Egyptian desert. A dazzling spectacle when the sun's rays strike these crystals. The crystals are oblong in shape, either clear or opaque white.

Aqabat is a huge cirque framed by mountains. Here you can admire the famous desert flowers, tiny black pyrite stones created by sand and wind. A truly splendid landscape!

Lunch en route and arrival in the White Desert late afternoon.

The White Desert is a magical place, unrivalled anywhere else in the world. Originally a kind of natural depression, it was covered by the sea millions of years ago. It is made up of limestone rocks formed long ago by wind erosion. These rocks are characterized by superb formations of dazzling whiteness, hence the name "white desert". You can also admire fanciful and mysterious natural shapes, such as mushrooms, sphinxes, pyramids, towers and so on.

Set up camp in an enchanting landscape with a magnificent sunset. A veritable lunar setting of thousands of immaculately white mounds floating in a sea of sand, colors that only nature can create.

Barbecue dinner and a magical night under the stars!

Breakfast and wake-up to a soft light that further enhances this magical landscape. We then witness a sublime sunrise. A short walk to enjoy the last moments in this unreal setting.

We continue on to the Black Desert, a vast expanse of small black volcanic mountains. The Black Desert is a geological jewel, and you can climb one of its mountains to enjoy a sumptuous view of this supernatural landscape.

Return to the Bahariya oasis and lunch in a local restaurant.

Return to Cairo.

Visit to Qalamoun, Al-Qasr, and Deir El-Haggar. Bathing in a natural spring and typical lunch. Drive to the Kharga Oasis with a stop at Balat. Set up bivouac at Ganah with view of the sunset. Dinner and overnight in bivouac.

Visit Kharga's main sites: Temple of Hibis, Bagawat Necropolis, Qasr Ghweita, and Qasr el-Zayan. Walk through the village of Barès, bathe in a hot spring and have lunch. Return to Luxor (250 km).
