Day 1: Tarangire National Park

Pick-up from your hotel in Arusha and drive with picnic lunch to Tarangire National Park for a full-day safari.

Tarangire National Park covers 2,600 square kilometers and, in the dry season, the concentration of animals rivals that of the much better-known Serengeti. The number of animals is staggering: 30,000 zebras, 25,000 wildebeest, 5,000 buffalo, 3,000 elephants, 2,500 Maasai giraffes and over 1,000 gemsbok, while predators include lions, cheetahs and leopards. Day 2: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park, full day safari en route with picnic lunch to central Serengeti via Ngorongoro. Serengeti National Park is the world's largest national park with a wide variety of animals and birds, searching among the trees and kopjes for elusive leopards and cheetahs as well as for migrating wildebeest.

After sunset, drive to Heritage Central Serengeti Luxury Camp or similar for dinner and overnight. Hot shower, mosquito nets, telephone connection available.


Day 3: Full-day safari in the Serengeti

Early in the morning, grab a cup of coffee and head off on a sunrise safari in the Serengeti, then back to camp for breakfast,

After breakfast, depart for a full day of game viewing with a picnic lunch in the Serengeti plains, home to a wide variety of animals and birds. Look out among the trees and kopjes for the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as the migrating wildebeest. After sunset, drive back to Serengeti Heritage Luxury Camp or similar for dinner and overnight.


Day 4: From the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, get everything ready, pack a picnic lunch and set off for a full day's safari en route to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

You're on the plains of the Serengeti, the natural wonder of the world and Africa's first natural icon. Discover wild predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards frolicking in tree branches, flamingos and waterfowl on Lake Magadi, as well as lovebirds and kingfishers in the Seronera River valley.

Only in the Serengeti will you see millions of large wild mammals and the wildebeest migration. Then it's off on a game-viewing drive through the Kopjes of the Serengeti plains to discover cheetahs, lions and leopards. Hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, elephants and small antelopes all thrive on the plains.

Late evening drive to Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp or similar for dinner and overnight.


Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend 610 meters to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for 6 hours of wildlife viewing, including a picnic lunch. See black rhino, lion, elephant, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest and other endangered wildlife.

In the soda lake of the Ngorongoro Crater, you'll also see many species of birds, including flamingos.

All these animals in turn support large predators such as lions and leopards, and scavengers such as hyenas and jackals. Late afternoon drive to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport.
