He was born and raised at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, where he developed a close bond with wildlife and local people. His interpretive knowledge of wildlife stems from his childhood, having grown up in remote areas. Jalala is passionate about photography, travel and different cultures, having traveled extensively throughout East Africa himself.
