Detail of the stay : Inter-season safari itinerary 5 nights / 6 days - 6 days

Day 1: Kilimanjaro airport to Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, after clearing immigration and customs, you will meet the Make My Safari driver outside the airport, and be transferred to your hotel in Arusha

Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire - Karatu

The safari starts in Arusha, the bustling gateway to Tanzania's northern safari circuit, and usually begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park. Known for its iconic baobabs and large herds of elephants, Tarangire offers abundant wildlife viewing in a quieter setting than some of the more famous parks. The road from Arusha to Tarangire covers around 120 kilometers and takes between 2 and 2.5 hours, passing through small towns and vast landscapes.

The road from Tarangire to Karatu offers magnificent scenery, with rolling hills, fertile farmland and picturesque views of the surrounding highlands. Karatu is famous for its coffee plantations and offers a wide range of accommodation, from comfortable lodges to luxurious safari camps. Many travellers spend the night here before continuing their safari in the Serengeti or Ngorongoro conservation areas.

Day 3: Karatu tp Serengeti central

After leaving the Karatu highlands, your safari heads to one of the world's most iconic wildlife destinations: the central Serengeti. This leg of the journey covers a distance of around 150 to 200 kilometers (93 to 124 miles), with a travel time of around 4 to 5 hours, depending on road conditions and stops along the way.

The route takes you through the breathtaking Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you'll pass the rim of the famous Ngorongoro Crater. As you descend from the highlands to the vast plains of the Serengeti, the landscape changes from lush forests and rolling hills to vast grasslands that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Day 4: Serengeti central

After breakfast, you're off on a full-day safari with a picnic lunch. The Central Serengeti, also known as the Seronera region, is the vibrant heart of the Serengeti National Park and one of Africa's most iconic safari destinations. Famous for its abundance of wildlife throughout the year, this region offers exceptional game-viewing opportunities, whatever the season. The Central Serengeti is an ideal base for those seeking an immersive safari experience. With its rich biodiversity, breathtaking scenery and spectacular wildlife interactions, it offers a perfect blend of everything for which the Serengeti is world-renowned.

Day 5: Du centre du Serengeti au Ngorongoro

After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro for a half-day crater tour with picnic lunch. The journey from the central Serengeti to the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater is a spectacular journey that takes you from the vast open savannahs to the lush, forested highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The distance between the two sites is around 140 to 160 kilometers (87 to 100 miles), and the journey takes around 4 to 5 hours, depending on wildlife viewing and road conditions. The journey from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater is not only a picturesque transition from lowland savannah to volcanic highlands, but also a diverse wilderness adventure. You'll move from one world-class wildlife area to another, each offering a unique set of experiences and spectacular scenery.

Day 6: Karatu to Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport

As your unforgettable safari adventure draws to a close, the journey from Karatu to Arusha and on to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) marks the transition from the wilderness of northern Tanzania to the comfort of modern travel.
