Arrival in Windhoek, city tour and welcome dinner
On arrival at Windhoek International Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your guesthouse. After check-in, you'll have time to relax before your guide takes you on a city tour, followed by a welcome dinner in a local restaurant. It is important to book flights arriving before lunch.

Windhoek to the Forest of Quiver Trees
Steps: Keetmanshoop
Early morning departure south, towards the northern edge of Keetmanshoop. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route. After check-in, you'll have time to relax before setting off on a walk through the Quiver Tree Forest. Quiver trees are endemic to the highlands of southern Namibia and grow in desert or semi-desert areas. These trees were named after the San people, who used the bark of their branches to make quivers for their arrows.

Forest of Quiver Trees in Luderitz
Steps: Lüderitz
After a hearty breakfast, you continue on to Luderitz, stopping in Aus for lunch. Aus is a small village that started out as a trading post in 1883 and then housed a prisoner-of-war camp at the start of the First World War. After lunch, you continue west, stopping at the Garub waterhole to see the wild horses of the Namib. You continue your journey west, making your first stop at Kolmanskop, a once prosperous town where diamonds were discovered in 1908. It is now a ghost town swallowed up by sand after being abandoned when richer diamond deposits were found in the south. You then continue to Luderitz for check-in at your hotel, where you'll have time to relax before dinner.

Steps: Lüderitz
Today, your guide will take you to visit Kolmanskop. You'll leave the hotel before dawn, the best time to photograph the town, now at the mercy of the Namib Desert. Your guide can include a scenic drive to Diaz Point, where it's possible to spot penguins on one of the islands.

Luderitz to Sossusvlei
Steps: Sesriem - Dunes De Sossusvlei
From Lüderitz, you head for Sossusvlei. You'll stay inside the national park for 2 nights (subject to availability), giving you access to Dead Vlei at dawn to photograph the famous thorny trees silhouetted against the red dunes. Afternoons can be spent exploring the dune corridor or Sesriem Canyon. Hot-air balloon flights or scenic flights by helicopter or plane can be arranged by your guide, at an additional cost, and must be booked in advance.

Excursions to Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei
Steps: Sesriem - Dunes De Sossusvlei
The next two days are devoted to photographing Dead Vlei, Dune 45, Sesriem Canyon or Dune Corridor. The name Dead Vlei refers to the trees in the swamp that died around 900 years ago when the Tsauchab River was cut off by the dunes. Dune 45, named for its proximity to the Sesriem Gate, is one of the most photographed dunes in the world. It is around 170 m high and made of 5-million-year-old sand that has turned red due to age and oxidation of the grains. Sesriem takes its name from the early settlers who, when collecting water in the canyon, had to connect 6 straps to lower a bucket into the canyon.

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
Today you leave for Swakopmund after a final sunrise photo session of the dunes. A helicopter flight over the dunes is also available. You drive north, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, the Gaub and Kuiseb canyons and the gravel plains of the Namib, on your way to the coast. Before reaching Walvis Bay, you'll visit the bird paradise where you can observe hundreds of pink flamingos and a variety of seabirds. The Namibian coast is nicknamed the Skeleton Coast because of the desert areas, shipwrecks, seals and whale skeletons scattered along the beaches.

Swakopmund to Spitzkoppe via Cape Cross
Steps: Cape Cross
Early morning departure for Spitzkoppe via the Cape Cross seal colony. At Spitzkoppe, sunset and night shots are a great way to spend time in this photogenic area. The area is home to a group of granite peaks, or inselbergs. Rising 1,728 m above the surrounding plains, Spitzkoppe is also known as Namibia's Matterhorn. The area is also home to San/Bushmen paintings. A visit to the San paintings can be organized by your guide during your stay.

Spitzkoppe to South Etosha via a Himba village
After a morning photo session in Spitzkoppe and breakfast, you're off to Etosha National Park. You'll pass through small towns and farming communities, with a stop at a Himba village where you can photograph these iconic people. After arriving at the Andersson camp, an excursion to the Ongava private game reserve is organized, where you can observe elephants, lions, black and white rhinos and many other animals. The Himbas are an ethnic group living in north-western Namibia, mainly in the Kunene region. They are known for their distinctive lifestyle, cultural practices and unique appearance.
Main destination: Etosha National Park

Games in Etosha Sud
This morning, your guide will take you to Etosha National Park for a full-day safari. You'll pause for lunch, then continue your safari before returning to the Ongava Private Game Reserve. The park offers a wide variety of wildlife. Etosha is known as the "Great White Place" because of the vast salt plain at the center of the park. This plain forms a unique backdrop and offers superb color contrasts. In the afternoon, you'll have time to visit the research center, a fascinating place offering knowledge and information on the flora and fauna of the region.

Etosha South to Windhoek
After a relaxed morning and breakfast, you take the road back to Windhoek. Your guide can arrange a stop at the woodcarvers' market in the town of Okahandja if you'd like to buy some handicrafts. On your return to Windhoek, you'll have time to relax and explore the city before enjoying a final dinner at Joe's Beerhouse to celebrate your Namibian expedition.
