AÉRO-CLUB DES ÎLES SOUS-LE-VENT
Raiatea, located in the South Pacific Ocean between Tahiti and Bora Bora, is home to the Aéroclub des Îles Sous-le-Vent. This aeroclub offers activities for aviation enthusiasts, from learning to fly over the magnificent Polynesian lagoons and landscapes, to joining the club as an experienced pilot. Affiliated with the Fédération Française d'ULM, the flying club offers qualifications, certificates and diplomas valid throughout France. The club has a Tecnam Sierra P2002, a two-seater ultralight powered by a Rotax 100CV engine. It is also fitted with a parachute to ensure safety in the event of engine trouble. Prices start at 13,000 F for an hour's flight without an instructor, and 16,000 F with an instructor. An annual fee of 16,000 F is also required to become a member of the aeroclub.
