Created in 2002 in order to preserve the forests of the mountains in the massif Du Chaillu, in the province of Ngounié, the Parc des Monts Birougou, a forest haven of great biological richness, offers mountain landscapes. There is now a desire to put the park in value to develop tourism as a privileged means of combating poaching.
