Many villages in Mexico have as their patron the Virgin Mary and thus celebrate the Fête de l'Assomption with great pomp, with dances, carnival attractions, and fireworks. This is the case in the village of Santa María Tepepan in the Xochimilco delegation. The party is worth a detour, if only to see how the "castillo" is lit, an assembly of fireworks that has the shape of a castle… But beware of getting too close, you run the risk of getting one of the lights on your head!
