Practical information : Going out Namibia
Timetable
Outside nightclubs, the nightlife generally closes at 9-10pm. At nightclubs, on the other hand, you'll be able to enjoy the nightlife until around 2am. The busiest time is when the other venues close, from 10pm onwards.
Budget & Tips
Expect to pay NAD 100 for a show and NAD 50 for a single nightclub entry. We don't really offer preferential rates, at least not for foreigners. It's easier to bring cash.
To be booked
It's advisable to reserve your night out, with the exception of nightclubs, which simply operate an entry filter.
Night transport
We always travel by car, especially at night. You're bound to find a cab with a little patience if you're in the city center. We recommend you download the Lefa app, a kind of Uber that works well in Windhoek.
Age restrictions
Consumption of alcohol is forbidden under the age of 18. Please bring a copy of your identity card.
What's very local
Namibians are not at all given to judging appearances, and so much the better. Nevertheless, many of them attach particular importance to their look when they go out at night: colorful, sequined suits are the order of the day!
Smokers
Dedicated areas are reserved for smokers.
Tourist traps
Make sure that the people watching over your car are wearing a yellow vest, a sign that their job is an official one. Similarly, if you don't have a car, never get into a cab that doesn't have a number (visible on all sides of the bodywork). If you're not sure, order a "Lefa"!
