Timetable

The malls, where the so-called modern stores are concentrated, are generally open every day from 10am until 10pm, with some extending hours on Fridays and Saturdays. The Souq Waqif opens its small stores at around 4 p.m. until late at night, often 10 p.m. too.

Budget & Tips

The stores in the malls are often luxury boutiques unaffordable for the average tourist, or international boutiques at prices often higher than those charged in France. The Souq Waqif, on the other hand, offers a profusion of objects and souvenirs at affordable prices. You'll find everything at reasonable prices, and some great bargains too!

Sales

The airport duty-free shopping mall is the best place to take advantage of better prices than in the city (but not by much, as taxes are 4%). Black Friday is celebrated in Qatar, as are temporary sales depending on the store. There are no official sale dates as in France.

What's very local

At the Souq Waqif, you should haggle for 30% of the price of what you're offered - it's de rigueur and fair game! In the mall's stores, prices are displayed and fixed.
