On March 5, Protestants gather in the temples for colourful festivities.

The first English Missionaries of the Protestant faith arrived in Tahiti on March 5, 1797 aboard the Duff, at Pointe Vénus in the commune of Mahina. Every year since then, Protestants from all over Polynesia have gathered in temples for festivities full of colour, songs and prayers, which reflect the occasion in a majestic way. March 5 is a public holiday in French Polynesia; it should be noted that with 45% of the faithful, Protestantism is today the most practiced religion in Fenua.
