The opportunity to taste the wonderful Runeberg pastries and to discover the Finnish composer and poet Johan Runeberg.

Celebrated every year in honour of the composer Johan Ludbig Runeberg. On this occasion, the tradition is to taste Runeberg cakes made of almond and rum: a treat! Runeberg (1804-1877) was a Finnish poet who wrote in Swedish. His best-known work is the country's national anthem. This poem accompanied the Finnish people from the awareness of their national identity to their independence. The poem describes the events of the Finnish War from 1808 to 1809. Frederika Runeberg, his wife, was the one who created the cake.
