CAVALCADA REIS D'ORIENT

Perched on chariots and decked out in their finest finery, the Three Wise Men travel through the towns throwing sweets to children.
In Catalonia, as in Spain, the Three Wise Men bring gifts to children on the night of January 5-6, not at Christmas. Balthazar, Melchior and Gaspard ride on floats in their best clothes through the main streets of towns and villages in colorful cavalcades that sometimes arrive by the sea, as in Palamós, throwing lots of sweets in their path. At nightfall, the children leave the house with lanterns that will light the way for the Three Wise Men.
