SEMAINE SAINTE - SEMANA SANTA
Go there and contact
This is the tradition most deeply rooted in Spanish manners. Throughout the country processions and parades of different brotherhoods testify to the Catholic identity of the country, all in a festive atmosphere, and attracts thousands of tourists every year. Each city celebrates the event in its way: the inhabitants of Chinchón represent the passion of Christ, the lâche of doves in Hellín, the processions pass silently in Toledo, the streets are very lively in Murcia, while in Lorca there is an interesting duel between the brotherhood of the "white" and the "blues". The festivities of Cordoba are particularly appreciated for the beauty and uniqueness of processions. Two weeks after the Semana Santa takes place the Seville Férias, the occasion to see a typical Andalusia, with flamenco and bullfighting.
