Practical information : Move & Laze around Italy
Budget & Tips
With its exceptional natural environment, both on the sea side and on the mountain side, the Italian territory allows the practice of many outdoor sports, from hiking to horseback riding or biking through swimming, diving or sailing... Numerous parks and public gardens also invite you to take a walk.
What's very local
In Italy, many beaches are private: deckchairs and umbrellas are reserved for a day or half-day. However, all seaside resorts offer at least a portion of public beach, where you can lay your towel freely. The latter are often crowded in August, the month in which most Italians take their vacations.
Your documents please
You must bring a medical certificate, if possible in Italian, to attest to your ability to practice diving in an organized activity.
To be booked
If you want to attend a soccer match, no matter which stadium, always remember to book in advance, especially during derbies.
Main events
You should know that the bathing season on most of the Italian coast extends from mid-May to mid-September. The peak of the season is around August 15. As far as sports are concerned, it is of course the calcio that brings Italians together! Soccer fans will take advantage of their trip to visit the country's major stadiums, from the San Siro in Milan to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, via the Allianz Stadium in Turin or the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples. Attending a derby match in one of these mythical places is an experience in itself, discovering a unique and electrifying atmosphere, even if you are not a fan of football !
