The feast of the Buhe is celebrated every August 19 according to the Gregorian calendar: churches celebrate the transfiguration of Jesus.

The feast of Buhe is celebrated every August 19 according to the Gregorian calendar. On this date, churches celebrate the transfiguration of Jesus, while young men from towns and villages roam the city during the day in traditional dress, singing and running from door to door, cracking whips calledchibos. At dusk, chibo bonfires are held in towns and cities, accompanied by singing. In Addis Ababa, groups can be found on every street corner, especially in Bolé, an event not to be missed.
