Built on the ruins of the old fortress, the Romantic Park of the City of Nice was created by the municipality in the th century. In a romantic period, the rich foreign winterers like to walk among those vestiges that make them dream! The park is therefore built on a system of walks and viewpoints overlooking the two slopes of the hill where you can see the old town, port, Mont Boron, sea and airport. The city also implements exotic plant species that agrémenter the landscape: mimosa, eucalyptus and fig fig from Barbarity are at the meeting! The water-fed artificial waterfall of the Vésubie River is the highlight of this romantic atmosphere. Prior to the development of the promenade des Anglais, the park is the first place of promenade with sea view, set in Nice. A little later, «Prom» will damage the park's popularity, which will be somewhat neglected for the seaside. Go down the port with the gentle sloping ramps to reach Catherine-Nissart Street, Guynemer Square or Papacino quay at Port level.
