In Seville, as in all of Spain, New Year's Eve is the occasion for many festivities that revolve around religious themes and there is always a lot of noise. A way to chase away the old demons and make room for the new ones. On December 31 at midnight, it is traditional to eat a grape at each stroke of midnight. This is the noche vieja, the old night. In many cities, people go to the main square to watch the clock count down. And the new year is often greeted with a fireworks display.
