The Inter-consular Centre was created on the initiative of the three consular chambers of the Dordogne. Built near the motorway, in the Cré@Vallée business park, this complex has been home to the Chamber of Agriculture, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Trades and Crafts since early 2010. They have pooled certain reception and management services to refocus each on its specialty. About 250 people work on the site and benefit from an amphitheatre and shared meeting rooms. This is an original and exemplary initiative, which has certainly emptied the city centre of Périgueux of these entities, but probably slowed down the process of regionalisation of these organisations. A business incubator, Cap@Cités, has grown nearby.
