• THE SAINT-FRONT CATHEDRAL

Big and majestic, the cathedral of Périgueux imposes itself. If the original building dates back to the 4th century, the current building was created by the architect Paul Abadie who later built the Sacré-Coeur basilica in Paris. For an unforgettable experience, opt for the visit of the roofs from where you can admire closely the 17 bell towers that rise towards the sky, without forgetting a panoramic view on the city.

• THE CASTLE OF BOURDEILLES
  

Finally... the castles of Bourdeilles, there are several.

A medieval fortress of the 13th century and its high keep (32 m) on one side, an elegant Renaissance dwelling on the other, the castle of Bourdeilles houses an impressive collection of furniture. Dive into history by taking part in discovery workshops with your family (making a medieval drink, creating a seal or a coat of arms, initiation to calligraphy) or during theatrical night visits.

• THE CAVE OF VILLARS
  

And its prehistoric interpretation path.

Less known than its close cousin (Lascaux), the cave of Villars conceals many treasures. In addition to its incredible natural decoration (calcite flows, fine stalactites, gours, translucent draperies, stalagmites...), the cave has one of the largest underground networks of the Périgord, of which nearly 13 km have been explored to date. Other wonders, its original prehistoric paintings where we can see ibexes, bisons and rare human representations.

• THE RUBBER LEAP

A natural discovery.

This 1.6 km loop trail will delight all walkers, beginners as well as advanced. Following the Auvezère river, the walk offers a lively landscape of waterfalls and whirlpools throwing themselves on the rocks. Notice to the sportsmen, descents of the river in kayak possible!
