Center international de l'art pariétal in Montignac, a facsimile with a bullfighting hall and an axial diverticulum

After Lascaux 2, Lascaux 4 is the facsimile of the Lascaux cave. It offers visitors an almost complete reconstruction of the part of the original cave open to the public. A digital clone was used to create the shells onto which artists projected 3D images of the original cave. They then reproduced them identically, using the same pigments and gestures as prehistoric man.

A committed site

The site of Lascaux IV is a "must-see" in the Périgord, managed by Semitour. It is a property of the Dordogne department and we have, with regard to the delegating authority, a requirement of excellence in all areas. Our environmental policy and the responsible management of purchases allow the daily good functioning of the site.

Similarly, the site has been awarded the Tourism and Handicap label in order to provide an optimal welcome for all visitors. The label was awarded to the site in 2019. The facsimile is designed in the heart of an innovative building to promote optimal control of energy consumption.

Our tourism activity must integrate the issues related to sustainable development.

LASCAUX is committed to this approach and offers our visitors important quality guarantees for their visit as well as a store with local products. A bicycle parking is available on our site. The city of Montignac has an electric bike rental service. Finally, in order to reduce the ecological impact, we advise to favor carpooling. Intéressant

Après la visite de la reconstitution de la grotte faite par un guide (très intéressant), on rentre dans une salle où les principales peintures sont reproduites (en visite libre) et on peut voir plusieurs films sur l'art pariétal pour clore la visite.

C'est très bien organisé.
Notre guide est un passionné car il a su rendre la visite vivante.
Mais cela demande tout de même un bon budget.
Un conseil : restaurez-vous dans la ville de Montignac-Lascaux pour ne pas alourdir davantage votre budget. ????

Très beau centre de l'art pariétal, les couleurs de la grotte sont splendides et bien mises en valeur. Et une guide extraordinaire qui sait capter votre attention du début à la fin avec humour et une connaissance très pointue de son sujet. Bravo à Lucie que tout le groupe a salué avec enthousiasme.
