ST. LOUIS CATHEDRAL
The relics of Saint Solenne are deposited in Saint-Louis Cathedral, where a crypt has been created to house his tomb.
The first chapel was built around 450 and, at the end of the 10th century, received the relics of Saint Solenne. It was then that the site was consecrated as a collegiate church, and a crypt was built as the saint's tomb (now the oldest part of the cathedral). Work began in the early 12th century, then under Francis I. Seriously damaged by the hurricane of 1678, the building was rebuilt thanks to Colbert, whose wife was from Blois.
