CHURCH OF SAINT PIERRE
This church, dedicated to Saint Peter, boasts arabesque panelling, frescoes and stunning murals.
This exceptional 14th-century church is dedicated to Saint Peter. Its arabesque panelling, frescoes and murals, depicting heaven and hell, are astonishingly contemporary with the Hundred Years' War (early 15th century). These murals, rediscovered at the end of the 19th century, are the real attraction of the building, which is part of the circuit of frescoed churches in the Loir Valley. Hell is represented by a pot in which some illustrious figures from the Catholic Church are boiling!
