TOWN HALL OF CHAUMONT-SUR-THARONNE
The village name summarizes its history: Chaumont comes from bald mountain, an arid bud on which a gallo-roman oppidum was built. Its fortified village past is still found in the plan of the streets of the village in the form of a spider's web centered on the church and in the moss, a part of which is always visible rue de abominants. The city hall has published an excellent guide to walk through the village and discover all its hidden or forgotten treasures. Among them, the church and the nearby caquetus, as well as the traces of celebrities who left their footprints in Chaumont as the aviator Louis Blériot or Emperor Louis Napoléon Bonaparte. A hiking trail takes you to Center Parks across the forest by inviting you to play with the musical facilities and discover the animals of the fauna Solognote. The square of the church is decorated with statues including the one sitting under the caquetor that can tell you stories of the village.
