FUZON MEADOWS
A sensitive natural area at Couffy, one of the last breeding grounds in Centre-Val de Loire for many birds.
This sensitive natural area covers 1800 hectares of meadows (250 of which are owned by the Conservatoires d'espaces naturels Centre-Val de Loire and Loire-et-Cher) in 6 communes, at the confluence of the Cher and Fouzon rivers. This protected area is one of the last breeding sites in the Centre region for many unusual birds, such as the curlew, the hobby falcon and the spotted locustelle. The Fouzon meadows are also very interesting for their flora, with some fifteen protected species such as the high violet and the marsh orchid
