This imposing 15th century castle, little known, composed of a square keep and a Renaissance main building, has been entirely restored and can be visited in its entirety. It is a good example of a fortified castle as we imagine it, with its ramparts and its dungeon, designed by its builders to show their power. The different styles that have been added over the centuries (Gothic pediment, Louis XII gallery, Renaissance capitals) give it its grace and power. Its three levels will allow you to discover the imposing frameworks of this monument with a military vocation. To remind you of the sometimes closed life of the place, the garden of medieval inspiration presents a collection of vegetable, aromatic, medicinal and dye plants. The latter are also a reference to the use of the castle as a spinning mill for 80 years before it became a public monument. It is this transformation into a factory that allowed it to escape the destruction of the Revolution and its perfect preservation. It was another event, the stock market crash of 1929, which led to its sale and acquisition by the State three years later. The garden arbour offers a shady break to visitors. Throughout the year, temporary exhibitions, educational and festive events punctuate the life of the castle. The shop specialising in medieval items is accessible from outside. Children are not forgotten with a questionnaire-game reserved for them.
