CASTLE OF SAINT AGIL
Renaissance castle of the XVth century restored in 1720, presenting traces of the manor of the XIIIth century as well as an English park.
Surrounded by a moat, the square château is a 15th-century Renaissance residence that was remodeled in 1720. Although there are no traces of the lordship dating back to the Middle Ages, it has preserved reminders of the 13th-century manor house and elements of fortification, such as the machicolated parapet walk and the two red and black brick towers of the early 16th-century entrance pavilion. The park, originally designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, was transformed into an English-style park in 1872. At the entrance, a remarkable feature is the ice-house, used to store food all year round.
