CHURCH OF ST. MARTIN
Visit the church of Saint-Martin and discover the frescoed churches of the Loir valley.
The pre-Romanesque Saint-Martin church dates back to the 12th and 14th centuries. It is built of Roussard stone, a typical sandstone of the Perche Vendômois region, which has been used in many buildings in the Montdoubleau area, from bridges to castles. The church is especially noteworthy for its murals, and is part of the circuit of frescoed churches in the Loir valley. A few dozen meters away is a second religious edifice, the church of Saint-Cyr, whose origins date back to the 7th century, with modifications in the 12thcentury .
