RADRET CASTLE
Renaissance style castle where illustrious families have resided, the guard room presents works from the end of the 19th century.
This Renaissance château was successively inhabited by the de la Berruère family, whose name appears as early as 1444, then by the d'Illiers family from 1522 to 1765, and by Anne Racine, the granddaughter of playwright Jean Racine, from 1765 until 1831. The medieval influence can be seen in the moat surrounding the residence, as well as the gateway and drawbridge. Inside the château, the tour includes the former bakery and the guard room, where photographic documents and drawings from the late 19th century are on display.
