Cette ancienne cité fortifiée a nombreux vestiges allant l'époque gallo-romaine à la Révolution. Le village compte deux églises, dont l’église Saint-Christophe, l’un des plus anciens bâtiments religieux du département et plusieurs châteaux. The existence of numerous springs and rivers encouraged the construction of mills from the Middle Ages onwards (18 in all). A signposted trail takes you on a tour of these mills. Le syndicat d'initiative propose également des visites de la commune voisine de Cour-sur-Loire, toutes aussi intéressantes.
