SAINTE-MADELEINE CHURCH
Church with a wealth of magnificent stained glass windows created by Touraine master glassmakers in the late century.
The church was erected in 1474 by Jean VIII, Count of Vendôme. The simple chapel was enlarged over the centuries to achieve the appearance we know today. Like many religious buildings, the church was transformed into a firewood store for the military during the troubles of the Revolution. Officially reopened in 1801, it became a parish church again in 1826. The church's richness lies above all in its magnificent stained-glass windows, created by Touraine master glassmakers in the late 19thcentury , and its ex-voto votive offerings.
