ITINÉRAIRE BAROQUE EN PÉRIGORD
Pedagogy, heritage and baroque music: this is the heart of this festival, which is organised around Cercles-La Tour Blanche, Verteillac and Ribérac. The Romanesque chapels of Les Graulges, Saint-Sulpice de Mareuil, Monsec and Puyrénier (restored in a spirit of modernity) and the Aucors castle, high perched, are all sublime settings. This festival of baroque music is directed by Ton Koopman, organist, harpsichordist and conductor, an eminent specialist in baroque music. About a hundred musicians and forty concerts will thrill a dozen magnificent venues. The spirit of the programme is to honour, alongside great composers such as Bach, Handel, Vivaldi or Telemann, lesser-known works and authors.
