This elegant pleasure castle, planted on a rock, replaced the old medieval fortress
Planted on a rocky outcrop, this elegant château de plaisance, listed as a Monument Historique in 1928, replaced the former medieval fortress. Comprising a main building with a round tower and sculpted façade, it is enclosed by walls and bordered by a deep moat. It houses furniture, tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries and paintings. In July and August, Thursdays: starry evening (candlelit castle, torchlit gardens, classical concert, tasting of local produce).

Reopening from April 15 to November 3, 2024. Reservations required from October 2024. Opening hours: April/May/June/September 11am-6pm. July/August 10am-6pm. Free for children up to 4 years (and disabled visitors). Adults: €10 (18 and over). Children (5 to 11 years): €6. Group (20 people): €8. Reduced (12 to 17 years or students with proof of age) €8. Vacation vouchers. Guided tour. Tearoom. Gift store. Animations. Remarkable garden. Rental of a 17th-century cottage on the edge of the estate, with direct access to the Vézère river.

Château et Jardins de Losse - Renaissance in Périgord
Overlooking the Vézère River, the Château de Losse is a splendid residence built in the 16th century on the basis of a medieval fortress.
The castle offers you a visit of the large dwelling (MH) furnished with period furniture and its gardens entirely reconstituted in the Renaissance style (Remarkable Garden), but also of the defense towers, the moats, the underground passages, the park and many other unusual or grandiose places.
Seasonal animations, tour for all ages, treasure hunt for children.

Ce château merveilleusement bien entretenu est un endroit à visiter. Il est construit en bord de rivière et possède un joli jardin où il fait bon se promener. Quelques pièces du château ont été meublées avec goût et l’application fournis de très intéressantes explications sur l’histoire, l’architecture… Un vrai plaisir!
Des meubles et tapisseries visible de très proche. Un accueil sympathique.
Pour 10€ par adulte cela est plus que convenable.
Visite en pleine semaine, déambulation libre dans le jardin, et le château.
Très content.
