THE QUINCONCES
A two-hour visit to an exceptional natural site covering 140 hectares.
An exceptional natural site, the Quinconces Saint-Brice site extends over 140 hectares. It is located on the municipalities of Andernos-les-Bains and Arès. As rich as extending this true natural breathing space can only amaze you. The association for safeguarding the site offers guided tours on Wednesday afternoon from June to September and during school holidays. The naturalist guide will guide you through freshwater ponds, stream, river, salt meadows, fish tanks, forest… And who knows? Maybe at the detour of a tauzin oak, cross a blue throat, a purple heron, or a cormorant. The visit takes about 2 hours, we walk quietly, we observe and ask all the questions that pass us through the head to the passionate guide that is happy to answer, even to extend a little visit. The romantic soul hikers will also appreciate the night visit, which allows you to browse through the site to the mouth for a final beauty and, every night, the sunset.
