An outstanding winemaker, Jérôme Arnoux has 20 years of vineyard and cellar experience behind him, managing two niches at the same time. First, a 15-hectare estate, part of which is organic. Then there's "Les caves de la Reine Jeanne" (Queen Jeanne's cellars), where visitors are welcomed under medieval vaults and arches. It's hard to recommend a particular vintage, such is the care taken with each one. Our senses nevertheless came to rest on this "Exception", a 2018 Arbois rouge trousseau. A perfume of fresh fruit of unprecedented finesse, combined with a range of suppleness on the palate.

Visite à faire absolument. Accueil et visite de la cave par la fille de la maison. Explications très professionnelles et avec le sourire, dégustations excellentes. La cave est remarquable.

We visited here with a friend of ours who was local to the area. She advised us to go, not just for the wine tasting, but to see the bit of culture and also see the cave which has historical context.

After looking in the shop, being hosted very well and being given a true tasting experience. we then ventured down the stairs to see the cave - this was incredible.

Consideration needs to be given that the steps are very steep, so no disabled entry, plus in adverse weather conditions it might become a little more difficult.

That being said, if you are going down to have a life changing experience or something then you are in the wrong place, but if you are going down and expecting to see barrels and learn about the reasons it was used in the past - then this is for you.

Seeing the faces in the walls and also being able to learn about the previous usage for me was well worth it.
