Museum allowing to discover the art of making boxes, cases, skis, or clock cabinets
What is Boissellerie? It is indeed the work of wood, this word comes from the word cup, this cylindrical wooden container, ancestor of the bucket or the bowl... Perched at an altitude of 1,050 metres, the museum dedicated to this craft is very logically located in the middle of forests where spruce is king. It is located in a restored sawmill where the Orbe still operates the hydraulic turbine. All the art of making boxes, boxes, boxes, skis, or even clock cabinets is here to be discovered. Techniques have evolved and so have tools, but ingenuity is the guiding principle. Several thematic rooms allow you to move from one universe to another, without forgetting the one of the history of skiing!
