FÊTE DES BŒUFS GRAS DE BAZAS
Since 1283, Bazas has been the scene of the "Fête des Bœufs Gras", with a weighing and parade of oxen, a competition and a dinner dance.
The fête des bœufs gras is a 741-year-old tradition! Indeed, since 1283, the commune has been showcasing the finest of the Bazadaise breed. The festivities take place on the Thursday before Mardi Gras. Highlights include the traditional weigh-in and parade of oxen adorned with ribbons and floral wreaths, followed by the blessing and, of course, the competition in Place de la Cathédrale. To finish on a high note? A lively dinner-dance (reservation required).
