MUNICIPAL MUSEUM OF BAZAS
Musée municipal de Bazas, featuring historical, architectural and sacred art collections, as well as remarkable artifacts
Occupying the first floor behind the Hôtel de Ville, the museum houses historical, architectural and sacred art collections, while the Musée de Villandraut specializes in popular arts and traditions. The first room recounts the history of the Bazadais region; the next two present everything to do with religious art and fine art, while the last room focuses on local archaeology. Remarkable artefacts from the early Iron Age are on display, as well as the contents of a Merovingian sarcophagus.
