ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
A museum retracing the history of the Champagnole area from Antiquity to the Merovingian period, with excavation collections.
Created in 1985, this museum houses archaeological collections from excavations dating back to 1965 in and around Champagnole. You can take a guided or self-guided tour of the Gallo-Romans and Merovingians who populated the Jura plateau from the 1st to the 7th century. You can then follow in the footsteps of these peoples as you explore existing sites. Discover the vestiges of the past in the artisan quarter of Saint-Germain-en-Montagne or at the summit of Mont Rivel to observe the Gallo-Roman sanctuary.
