SAINT CHRISTOPHER'S CHURCH
Church housing a host of primate-faced heads and busts.
Centrally located, this village attracts visitors from afar. Starting with the beauty of its church, which stands like a lighthouse in the middle of the plain. It's a landmark of which the "Babouins" (as the locals are known) are proud. The castle was destroyed in the 14th century, but the 13th-century church of Saint-Christophe still stands. When you visit it, you'll see a host of heads and busts with primate features. Hence "the baboons". Chissey still has its forest and its pond. The commune and its volunteer actors also played a key role in the film The Demarcation Line.
