CONGREGATIONAL HERMITAGE
For the bravest… but the ride is worth it! Access was made by the esplanade and a deviation was opened in 2017. The view over Vallière Valley and Lons-le-Saunier is remarkable. On the heights of Conliège is one of the only hermitages of the Jura built by a noble solitary in the beginning of the seventeenth century. After the Revolution, the hermitage became national and its bergery is rented by the commune to Joseph Simonin. The chapel left behind then fails to disappear. A group of volunteers is working to restore it. A commendable action that allows you to enjoy this beautiful building surrounded by a small stone house with lava roof and a lovely terrace. Burnt in November 2015, the bergery had to be restored by the association Les Amis de l 'Ermitage. A little higher, another religious building is the subject of constant care: Saint Etienne de Coldres chapel. It is said in the corner that it is the oldest in the Jura. It is surrounded by a cemetery of burgish tombs. A place where the Spirit breathes! The trail descending from the hermitage to Perrigny leads to a shepherd cabin, left in the woods, 50 m down the slope.
