THE BATTLE OF CASTILLON
Set on an imposing 7-hectare stage, with over 600 volunteers, it's the biggest show in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The biggest show in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region! The re-enactment evokes one of the major events in French history: the French victory that put an end to the Hundred Years' War on July 17, 1453. On a grandiose 7-hectare stage area, over 600 volunteers, including actors and some 50 horsemen, take nearly 3,000 spectators back to the Middle Ages, to the heart of this great battle. For 1h30, complete with stunts and pyrotechnic effects, the audience, under the gaze of the Duchess-Queen Eleanor, experiences the key events of the Hundred Years' War and the victory of Charles VII, who returned Aquitaine to the kingdom of France. Not to be missed! Tastings with winegrowers, medieval craftsmen, entertainment, games... Don't hesitate to take the pulse of the village of Eleanor before joining the grandstands to let yourself be carried away by the magic of a large-scale show. Don't forget to book your dinner at the Auberge d'Aliénor, as the low prices attract big crowds. The atmosphere will be joyful and convivial. Believe us, you'll have a great time. Young and old alike will love it! La Bataille de la Castillon is directed by Eric Le Collen, with costumes by Hervé Poeydomenge. Please note that reservations can be made online, by telephone or directly at the Bataille office (5-7 allée de la République, Castillon-la-Bataille). The medieval village opens at 5pm and the show starts at 10:30pm.
