Good restaurant with terrace in Dole preparing trout filet, meats, seasonal vegetables and frogs.
A stone's throw from Louis Pasteur's birth house, here is a good restaurant set in two vaulted cellars in the old quarter of Dole. The bright rooms overlook the famous Canal des Tanneurs and the sunny terrace. Saber Sahli took over this establishment in 2017, and since then its reputation is well established. On the plate, note the fillet of Jura trout with its cancoillotte sauce, or the veal chuck at low temperature and its seasonal vegetables. Without forgetting the frogs! The dessert menu is very good, as is the wine list.

Opening time and information on LA PETITE VENISE
Open all year round. Closed Wednesday and Thursday. Friday to Tuesday, 12 noon to 2pm and 7pm to 10pm. Reservations recommended. Menu: approx. €45. No children's menu, but dishes adapted for them. Wine by the glass. Baby chairs available. Pleasant terrace on the banks of the Canal des Tanneurs.

To accompany your meals, you can opt forthe selections of wines and drinks that it displays on its menu such as Arbois Béthanie, Burgundy aligoté, Jura Brut champagne, Aberlour, homemade lemonade... The establishment favors regional and seasonal products. If the weather is good, enjoy the terrace overlook ingthe Canal des Tanneurs.

Car c’est bien de cela qu’il s’agit ! Lorsqu’on débarque -transpirant de dédain, n’hésitant pas à distribuer des leçons de morale sur l’utilisation du téléphone et de la messagerie- un dimanche à 12h45 sans réservation ferme et définitive alors que le restaurant est déjà complet et qu’on se permet d’insister en arguant d’un soit-disant message que vous auriez laissé sur le répondeur (qui n’en est pas un d’ailleurs) !
De fait, vous avez drôlement bien fait de passer votre chemin !
