REFUGE CHEZ VALENTIN
Small house in Foncine-le-Haut serving a plate of cold cuts, salads and fondues with bowls of soup.
At the start of the cross-country ski runs, a small wooden chalet-style house houses a communal refuge entrusted to a manager who serves mountain cooking. Not bad after the effort! So you won't escape the plate with charcuterie, salad, potato fritters (more Savoyard than Jura, but nice), fondues, morbiflette, and "rebloche" that it is better to order in advance especially if you are numerous. Be careful to book as only 30 places are available inside. Skiers or walkers who wish to invigorate themselves in the warmth without getting heavy appreciate the bowls of soup and slices of home-made pie - each day different, soup as well as pie.
