BLACKSMITH'S PATH
An hour's walk in the village of Fraisans, in the footsteps of a past, that of the forges, active from the th to the th century. The circuit starts rue de la Gare. We start with a return to the "new forge"… which is no longer nine than the name! The high stack of brick that rises from ruins is impressive. The bridge then crosses the bridge to the left bank towards the "old forge". If industrial buildings are in ruins today, the houses of successive forges evoke the past splendour of the activity. Following the marked route in yellow, you discover the houses built by the Nardin (in the th century), the Pourcheresse (in the th) or the Caron (in the th). You also see, on the streets, the houses of the foremen and those of the workers, called the "series". Explanatory panels marked the course. Book a booklet published by the community of the Jura North, available among others at Fraisans town hall or download on the local website.
