THE PORT OF THE TILES
Go there and contact
Visit the small, natural Port des Tuiles in Biganos, home to around 30 huts.
Under the protection of the Conservatoire du Littoral et des Rivages lacustres, the Port des Tuiles stretches out to surround the Ile de Malprat, where reed beds and baccaris (vegetation typical of the Leyre delta) grow in abundance, giving it a very wild feel. Its name comes from its activity, since it was from here that the tiles of Biganos were produced, then distributed to all the ports of the basin to the oyster farmers who collected their oyster spat. Very natural and small in size, the Port des Tuiles is home to around thirty shacks.
