CHÂTEAU GRATTEQUINA * * * *
Charming starred hotel in Blanquefort offers a large house, ideal for a family weekend.
Located on the banks of the River Garonne and at the gates of Bordeaux (not far from the industrial area), this charming 4-star hotel is a great master house built in 1874. But rest assured, the environment is beautiful and you will sometimes feel like being alone in the world, ideal for a two-week weekend. The 10 deluxe rooms are very spacious, with soft and pure tones, beige, cream or white, with colourful, elegant drapes. The suite is a private terrace with a hacienda that gives directly onto the river, the sober and very chic bathrooms, wooded oak with bathtub and Italian shower of brown and stone tiles. The 50 m ² suite overlooks a large terrace overlooking the Garonne. A concierge service is at your disposal with room service and, to make your stay even more pleasant, the hotel offers a daily departure for Bordeaux with the hotel's private boat, a 15-minute navigation with a glass of wine. The Grattequina castle is also suitable for seminars and private events that can accommodate between 30 and 500 people.

Everything about this hotel was amazing and exactly what we were looking for after a stay in Paris.
The location is perfect for trips into downtown Bordeaux and to the beautiful Bordeaux wine AOCs.
The staff was incredibly helpful and exactly as available as you need them to be, when you need them to be (that is to say, not too pushy or over-attentive). They gave us some great recommendations for dinners and helped us make reservations.
The grounds are beautifully manicured and the greenery well appointed. I could spend all day just sitting in their gardens reading and drinking coffee or wine.
Our room was extremely clean and brilliantly decorated. The ambiance is quiet and serene without being eerie (even with a corporate event being hosted during 2 of the days of our stay).
The offerings for breakfast are perfect and delicious, with eggs and bacon available for the English/American palate, along side a slew of bread, pastries, fruit, yogurt, jams, cereals, and accouterments.
Their food menu, while small, does not miss - and is all priced unbelievably reasonably. We tried each item on the menu, and every single thing was well executed, well portioned, and delicious.
I will, without a doubt, return to this place some day.
