The Parc des Jalles is the first natural and agricultural park in Bordeaux. It extends over 6,000 hectares across nine communes of the agglomeration. The diversity of landscapes is remarkable: watercourses enclosed in the forest, forest plateau, market garden valley, gravel pits, wet meadows, banks of the Garonne, the beach of the lake... Here and there, you can see mills, a market gardener's hut, an old fortress, a romantic park, and the "carrelets" (small wooden huts) on the river bank... There are more than 400 species of flora, 600 species of fauna, 35 species with high stakes.
