CHÂTEAU SAINT-AHON
At the gates of Bordeaux, Château Saint Ahon welcomes you in a charming and friendly setting. Built in the xivth century, owned by Charles de Montesquieu in the eighteenth century, this Cru Bourgeois was acquired in 1985 by the Count and Countess Bernard de Colbert. Their daughter and son Françoise and Nicolas Chodron de Courcel settled there in 2003 and the third generation arrived with their daughter Alice! Convinced that "only a beautiful vine can give good wine", their choices turned resolutely towards the current know-how. In 2013, the High Environmental Level 3 certification rewarded all their efforts with regard to reasoned agriculture. You will discover the history and facilities of Château Saint Ahon (vineyards, winemaking chai, barrel chai) during a guided tour that will end on a wine tasting of the property. Children are not forgotten, a producer juice tasting will be reserved for them. In 2006, the property opened to ecotourism with a first lodging. In 2009, the castle restored a reception room for individuals and professionals. In 2010 two new houses, a boutique and, in addition to the traditional visit and tasting, an oenoplayist visit that plait to the small and large of all ages "Les Jardins de Mirabel". This family-run and playful promenade in the heart of the Château Saint Ahon vineyard invites visitors to discover the nature, vineyard, fauna and flora of the region and its property. While fun with quizzes and explanatory panels, small and large will be learning and will have the chance to see the donkey Mirabel. You need to scan Qr code codes to find out more… The fine grocery store offers both the wines of the castle and also the products and discoveries «Made In France».
