THE BARRACKS OF THE 14TH
Les Baraques du 14 is a memorial to the lumberjacks who lived between Dole and Salins.
Between Dole and Salins, the Baraques du 14 are a place of memory and history of the lumberjacks who lived there. More than 600 in 1830! Of the last 5 remaining dwellings, one dates from the 16th century. Of this curious hamlet, inhabited until the 1950s, there are also two bread ovens, an apiary, a well and remarkable trees. A forest trail allows you to discover other elements of this history, including a carbonization site (charcoal making). In summer, the site is animated by costume parties, exhibitions, evening events, tales and legends.
